Why Should My Company Use Social Media?

I was just asked this question today from a new client.  Why should my company use Social Media?  The person asking intuitively knows their company should be using Social Media specifically a company blog, Linkedin, Facebook, and why highway sign 245x300 Why Should My Company Use Social Media?Twitter.  And the reason why they know they should be more active in Social Media is because they are seeing their customers use Social Media more and more.  Customers are viewing Facebook and Twitter on their iPhone, Driod phone, and now of course their iPad.

I am constantly asked how I use Linkedin to grow my business.  For a lot of businesses and professionals Linkedin is a mystery.  Often times when we speak on using Social Media to grow your business we will ask by show of hands “who has a Linkedin account?”.  Typically most of the room will raise their hand.  Of course when we follow up with “who has received businesses or referrals from Linkedin?” or “who knows how to use Linkedin for their business?” only one or two hands will remain!
