Five Easy Ways To Learn About Social Media

by Angie A. Swartz on July 29, 2010

How DO you learn about social media if you’re a beginner??

Clients and friends are always commenting that the ubiquitous social media is so massive that it’s overwhelming.  It’s difficult to know where to start if you are a beginner.  I wanted to answer the question in this weeks Social Media Minute, our Square Martini Media video series.

Watch the video to hear me talk about 5 Easy Ways to Learn About Social Media.  I cover:

  1. Books
  2. Blogs
  3. Participate
  4. Getting Involved in Your Local Social Media Community
  5. Webinars

I mention great sources for each of these areas and offer suggestions like visiting websites.  Social Media Examiner is one of our favorite sites for social media advice.  (Oh, and PSST…I’m the featured expert on Social Media Examiner’s Facebook page tomorrow at 10am PDT, Friday July 30, …come ask a question so we can have some fun together!).

I hope you enjoyed the Social Media Minute and I look forward to your thoughts and comments.  Please subscribe to the Square Martini Media YouTube channel and if you have a question you would like covered on the Social Media Minute, let us know by giving us your Social Media Minute Question.

Afterall, social media is still all about the conversation.  We get our biggest compliment when you talk with us.
